General

All our goods and services comply with the standards required by relevant legislation. When shopping with us online, a Contract of Sale is formed at the time we accept your order, and this contract shall be governed by English law. By confirming your order on the website, you accept these terms and conditions.

We reserve the right to update our website, policies, and terms and conditions at any time. However, any changes will not affect the terms that applied at the time of your purchase. While we take great care to ensure all product descriptions, images, information, and prices are accurate, we do not accept liability for any inaccuracies, errors, or omissions. Colour and shape may vary from those shown on the website.

Local Delivery

We offer local delivery to selected postcodes in Hertfordshire and Essex using our own refrigerated vans. To check if you are eligible for delivery, please see the list of postcode districts below. If your postcode is not listed at checkout, we regret that we do not deliver to your area. Customers outside our delivery area are welcome to use our Collection service from Just William Butchers, High Trees Farm, Beggarmans Lane, Ware, SG11 1HB.

Our delivery service operates between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. While we strive to deliver within this time frame, exact times may vary due to unforeseen circumstances such as traffic or weather conditions. On the morning of delivery, customers will receive an email with an estimated delivery time and a tracking link to monitor their order.

We deliver to the following postcode districts:

SG7, SG9, SG10, SG11, SG12, SG14, AL6, CM20, CM21, SG8 9, SG13 8, CM17 0, CM18 6, CM22 6, CM23 0, CM23 2, CM23 3, CM23 4.

We do not offer nationwide delivery.

If no one is available to receive the delivery, we will leave your order in a safe place at your property if we believe it is suitable. If we are unable to leave your order and cannot reach you, it will be returned to the farm for collection. No redelivery attempts will be made, and the order will be deemed complete. No refunds will be issued for failed deliveries. By placing an order with us, you accept full responsibility for your delivery if left unattended. Just William Butchers expressly disclaims all liability for theft, tampering, or contamination of goods left at your property.

All our deliveries are transported in temperature-controlled refrigerated vans, ensuring your order arrives in perfect condition. Once prepared, your meat is stored in our chilled facility until it is loaded onto our van for delivery.

Delivery Fees

  • Orders over £40 qualify for free delivery.
  • Orders under £40 will incur a £5 delivery charge.

Collection

Customers may choose to collect their order from Just William Butchers, High Trees Farm, Beggarmans Lane, Ware, SG11 1HB. Collection is available on your chosen date between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM. A reminder email will be sent on the day of collection.

A minimum order value of £10 applies to all collections. Orders must be collected within the designated time. Uncollected orders will be disposed of, and no refunds will be issued.

Our main delivery and collection day is Saturday, with an order cut-off time of 11 PM on Thursday. Orders placed after this time will be processed for the next available date, subject to availability.

Weight Variation Policy

Due to the artisanal nature of our products, slight variations in weight may occur. While we aim to match the weight specified in your order, a tolerance of up to 10% above or below the stated weight is acceptable under the Weights and Measures (Packaged Goods) Regulations 2006. No additional charges or refunds will be issued for items within this weight range.

Unfulfilled Orders & Substitutions

We take every effort to ensure stock availability; however, due to the seasonal nature of our products, there may be occasions where we are unable to fulfil certain items. In such cases, we will issue a refund for the missing items.

Where possible, we may offer a suitable substitution, but we will always contact you prior to making any substitutions to confirm whether you are happy to proceed with the alternative. If we are unable to reach you, we will issue a refund instead.

Shelf Life & Storage Recommendations

All our meat is fresh, never frozen, unless otherwise stated. We recommend consuming fresh products within 3–5 daysor freezing them upon receipt. Please follow storage instructions on the packaging to ensure your meat stays in the best condition.

Satisfaction Guarantee

We take pride in providing high-quality, fresh meat. If you are dissatisfied with your order for any reason, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt at info@justwilliambutcher.com. We will investigate and aim to resolve any issues promptly. Due to the perishable nature of our products, we cannot accept returns or process refunds for items ordered in error. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Order Amendments & Cancellations

Due to the short processing times for fresh meat, orders cannot be cancelled or amended after checkout. However, if you need to make changes before the Thursday 11 PM cut-off, please contact us as soon as possible. While we will do our best to accommodate changes, we cannot guarantee them. Once an order has been dispatched, it cannot be modified.

Allergen Information

All allergen information is clearly displayed on each product page and provided on the packaging label, where allergens are highlighted in bold. If you have specific dietary concerns, please review the product details carefully before placing an order.

Vouchers & Promotional Codes

Promotional codes entitle the customer to a discount as advertised at the time of purchase. They cannot be used in conjunction with other offers or applied retrospectively. Just William Butchers reserves the right to refuse promotional codes deemed invalid or misused.

First-time shopper codes are only valid for new customers and do not apply to sale or discounted items. We reserve the right to cancel promotional codes at any time. Multi-buy offers, such as 3 for 2 or 5 for 4, will always deduct the cheapest item.

Gift vouchers are for single-use only and will be sent via email. They can be redeemed against any product but have no cash alternative.

Data Protection

Your personal information is collected for the purpose of order fulfilment and customer service. We store your details securely and do not share them with third parties without your consent.
