How To Cook

Cooking Instructions for Pulled Pork
1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 150°C (130°C fan) or gas mark 2.
2. Prepare the pork: Rub the boneless rolled pork shoulder with your preferred seasoning, such as a mix of salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. For extra flavor, add a drizzle of olive oil and massage the spices into the meat.
3. Add moisture: Place the pork in a roasting tin and pour in about 200ml of stock or water, along with a splash of apple cider vinegar or juice. This will help keep the pork tender and juicy.
4. Cover and slow-cook: Cover the roasting tin tightly with foil, and cook for 4-5 hours, or until the meat is soft and easily pulls apart with a fork.
5. Shred the pork: Remove the pork from the oven, let it rest for 10-15 minutes, then shred it using two forks.
6. Optional finishing: For crispy edges, return the shredded pork to the oven, uncovered, at a higher temperature (200°C) for an additional 15-20 minutes.

Serve your pulled pork in soft buns, tacos, or with your favourite sides!

About Our Pork

All of our pork is sourced from British outdoor-bred pigs, primarily from local farms in Essex. These pigs are raised outdoors in spacious paddocks with access to straw-bedded arcs or tents, allowing them to roam freely. Fresh straw is always available, so the pigs can create warm, comfortable beds. They are born and raised outdoors with the sow until weaning at around four weeks old and are reared on a natural diet, often including homegrown cereals.
