Beef Short Ribs

Our grass-fed British beef short ribs are richly marbled and perfect for slow cooking or smoking. With their tender meat and deep flavor, they’re ideal for a savory BBQ glaze or a hearty stew. When cooked low and slow, these ribs become irresistibly tender, falling right off the bone.

How To Cook

1. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
2. Season the beef short ribs with salt and pepper.
3. Heat a little oil in a large ovenproof pot over medium-high heat. Sear the short ribs on all sides until browned, then remove and set aside.
4. In the same pot, cook chopped onions, carrots, and garlic until softened.
5. Add a glass of red wine or beef stock, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
6. Return the short ribs to the pot and add enough beef stock to just cover them. Optionally, add herbs like thyme or rosemary.
7. Cover the pot with a lid and place it in the oven. Cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender and falling off the bone.
8. Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before serving.

About Our Beef

We source our grass fed beef from small local farms, including our own, then traditionally butcher and dry age in our bespoke ageing facilities in house. All of our beef is raised to the highest standards on a grass fed diet & comes from traditional native breeds cattle such as Hereford & Angus.
