Turkey Serving Size

2.5kg Turkey Breast:
- Serves approximately **6 to 8 people**, depending on portion sizes. Perfect for a family gathering or a smaller dinner party, offering generous portions of succulent turkey breast.

3.0kg Turkey Breast:
- Serves approximately **8 to 10 people**. Ideal for a medium-sized group, this size provides plenty of servings, with the option for leftovers or larger portions.

These estimates assume turkey as the main course, with other side dishes complementing the meal.

How To Cook

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan) or Gas Mark 4.
2. Prepare the turkey by placing the rolled turkey breast wrapped in streaky bacon onto a roasting tray. If desired, drizzle with a little olive oil or butter to enhance crispness and flavour.
3. Season with salt, pepper, and any herbs you like (such as rosemary or thyme).
4. Roast in the oven for 25 minutes per 500g, plus an additional 20 minutes. For a 2.5kg rolled turkey breast, this totals about 2 hours and 10 minutes. For a 3.0kg rolled turkey breast, cook for about 2 hours and 35 minutes.
5. To prevent the bacon from burning, loosely cover the turkey with foil during the first half of the cooking time. Remove the foil for the second half to allow the bacon to crisp up.
6. Baste occasionally with the juices from the pan to keep the meat moist.
7. Check doneness by inserting a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the turkey breast. It should read 75°C when fully cooked.
8. Once done, remove from the oven and let the turkey rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.

Cooking Note:*Cooking times are a general guide and may vary depending on your oven. Always ensure the internal temperature reaches 75°C for safe consumption. Covering the turkey with foil during cooking prevents the bacon from burning, while removing it ensures a crispy finish. Resting the meat before carving is essential to maintain juiciness and enhance flavour.
